Story

The late, lazy days of late autumn are serene in their own right. We enjoy them, basking in the warmth of the late afternoon sun, knowing that before long the cold days of winter will settle in. When we add in a passing storm, mountains, Canadian Geese and a panoply of fall colors, it becomes something incredible. Serene Sandias represents perfectly the balance between fall and winter, blending everything together.

The rainstorms were just beginning to clear over the Sandia Mountains, just outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The sun found a way through the broken clouds, providing warmth to what otherwise would have been a chilly day. Another, far more potent system, rapidly approached, so the sunlight wouldn’t last for long.

A small flock of Canadian Geese took advantage of the moment and enjoyed their time on the Rio Grande river. The tip-top of the Sandia Mountains had their first coating of snow, a contrast to below.

And the fall colors! The fall colors were exploding with color, rich and vibrant, still ever-so-slightly damp from the passing rainstorm. The entire scene of Serene Sandias comes together to create a spectacular moment, showcasing the balance between fall and winter. The sun was eclipsed by the oncoming storm, but we can always enjoy the magnificence of the New Mexico’s Sandia Mountains.
