Story
The Open Road… leading from here on into infinity, under the blue skies of New Mexico.
It is hard to say where the road leads: everywhere and nowhere, both at the same time. All I know is that this very spot (or perhaps the spot a mile down the road, or a mile after that, or even a bit after that) marks the beginning of my journey.
As far as I can see there are no twists nor turns nor exits nor detours, nor anything at all to distract me from where I am going: the road runs as straight as is possible.
In the distance lies mountains of New Mexico. Or maybe those are the mountains of everywhere and nowhere. All I know is that the road runs right to them. It doesn’t really matter to me if the road runs over or through the mountains.
And really this road is a metaphor for my life, when it comes right down to it. My path is straight and true and I know where I am heading, at least, at the moment I do.
The open road calls me to now and it is time for me to go.
