Bayou Tranquility

Story

Far away from civilization, deep in the bayous and backwaters of Texas’s Caddo Lake, there exists a place unlike any other. Here, time moves at its pace, not beholden to what any clock might say. The silence is absolute, save for the gentle rustling and faint splashes as something slips into the water. Bayou Tranquility is the epitome of peace and quiet.

As fall creeps in so do the intense colors of the cypress trees. Their leaves change from a bright green to shades of oranges and yellows, and everything in between. Each tree has its own distinct shade, and taken together, the result is incredibly striking.

Finally, add in an overcast, calm day and the scene transcends into a magical fairyland. The subdued, yet still strong, colors now take on a life of their own. The faint greens of the Spanish Moss as it drapes over the trees adds a faint contrast. The still waters of the lake reflect the trees, making it difficult to discern the edge of the water.
