Hot air balloons in Monument Valley are always an amazing sight. Balloon Window shows a hot air balloon drifting serenely in the valley.

Story

The morning was absolutely perfect for flying hot air balloons in Monument Valley, and that’s exactly what happened. Although there was a light breeze, the balloons could fly. Balloon Window is a result of that morning.

A small balloon rally in January resulted in about twenty hot air balloons being flown in the valley. The balloons lifted off from various parts of the valley. In no time at all the valley had them everywhere, or at least, that’s what it seemed like. The skies started a little on the dreary side, but before long began to clear, giving way to some amazing sights.

This particular balloon drifted across the North Window area. The monuments beautifully framed the balloon against the sky. Distant spires rise off in the distance, perfectly lit by the sun that managed to peek through the cloud deck from time to time.

Alas, the balloons can’t stay up forever, and one by one they made their way back down to the ground. Still, the memories of that incredible morning, Balloon Window,  live on.
