Wolf Prowl

The wolf–a pure white one, naturally–was stealthy as only a wolf can be. His eyes had an incredible intensity; golden yellow and bright, seeing the here and now, as well as what lies beyond. Slowly, slowly it crept forward upon the prowl, drawing ever closer. The afternoon continued on, oblivious to what was about to happen. The wolf’s attention was focused, though, and the eyes never wavered. Those eyes!

The wolf in question, as it turns out, resides at the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary near Ramah, New Mexico. Dedicated–absolutely, positively, and completely dedicated–to helping wolves who are in need, the good folks here have a passion for them, as you might expect.

Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary provides a permanent home for captive-bred wolves and wolf-dogs. They are a non-profit organization, and the service they provide is incredible. So is the sanctuary in general; from the wonderful grounds, to the extraordinary staff, and, of course, to the animals themselves. Without their help and guidance, the fate of these wolves would be a far, far worse one, indeed.

The wolf, however, paid no attention to anything except its prowl. And that is as it should be.
