Drive 66

Drive 66 on Route 66If you listen closely, you can hear the heartbeat of the Mother Road, even today. The faint roar of cars cruising down the highway still resonates deep within us, and the ribbon of concrete pulls our wheels ever onward. Stretching before us is the open highway, and as we drive Route 66, we rediscover the sights and stories of legend are still here today. Fringe Photography is proud to announce Drive 66, our photographs and stories from America’s Highway.

From Chicago to Santa Monica, we’ve explored the nooks and crannies of Route 66. We’ve listened to the stories of old, as well as the stories of new, some of which might even be true. We photographed our favorite locations as they are today and as they were yesterday, bringing us back to the heyday of the road. We’ve eaten at the diners and greasy spoons, we spent the night in 1949, we’ve bartered at the trading posts, and we’ve even splashed around with a giant blue whale.

We made photographs all along the highway in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. We explored old alignments and found lost segments. We’ve backtracked, looped, and found ourselves lost on more than one occasion. But that is the nature of a good journey, and good journeys make great stories. And photographs.

On November 3, 2017, we’re releasing Drive 66, our collection of images from Route 66. Every image was made on the Mother Road, and all of them tell a story of their own. We’re also releasing them on a brand new format for us.

Join us on November 3, 2017, from 5-8PM to be part of the formal launch party. We’ll be at our gallery in High Desert Art & Frame, located at Tramway and Montgomery in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Can’t make it? That’s OK. We’ll release the images here on our site shortly after that.

See you there, and let’s take a road trip!
