Common Sense Guidelines

Introduction
image Welcome to Blackjack on the Fringe! We offer an interactive game of blackjack that follows the rules of Las Vegas. This game uses six decks of cards, dealt from a shoe. The dealer must hit on a Soft 17, and stand on 18 and higher. You may double down after a split, and late surrender is offered. Because this version has been designed as a tutorial, built-in basic strategy hints are offered. As the hand is played, the best move to make according to basic strategy is offered. As your skills progress, you can turn off the hint mode, and play for "real". This is a friendly game, however, so no real money is on the table.

The common rules of Las Vegas are followed, much as in you might find at a casino on the strip. However, at this time, insurance is not offered. Mostly, this is because insurance is always a losing bet. Since this is designed as a blackjack tutorial, it didn't seem to make much sense to put a losing option in.

If you're new to the game, or some the words above are not familiar to you, you can read the rules of blackjack to familiarize yourself with the terms and the game. You can also take a look (and maybe even print out) the entire basic strategy chart (this one uses 6 decks). If you would like instructions on how to make Blackjack work, you can read the Player's Guide. There are also some common sense guidelines that you might want to follow, as well.
The 10 Toughest Calls in Blackjack
Fringe Innovations is pleased to provide the famous article by John Grochowski, "The 10 Toughest Calls in Blackjack". John describes 10 very difficult hands to play, and gives some excellent advice on how to play each one. You can read the entire article at once, or simply refer to it as you play. Either way, though, John's advice is sure to improve your play!
